The pilot version and first print-run of our Rohingya Girls' Book - a women's health book designed for Rohingya adolescent girls.

Version 1 (March 2021)

You can purchase the most up-to-date version here.

DEFECTS:

Translation - We used this book as a pilot for the Rohingya language translation. As a result, we have since updated vocabulary throughout the book with a more accurate Rohingya translation, thanks to the assistance of International Literacy & Development (ILAD).

Cartoons - The book contains the original cartoons that have since been updated.

Content - The book contains less detailed content than the updated version. We completely re-did this book after the pilot version with several focus groups in Kutupalong, Bangladesh and in the United States.

FAQs

What is the target age range of this book?

Our books are used by students of all ages. Tailored for English Language Learners (ELLs), these books are designed to promote conversation building and informal learning.

We've seen adults use these books at home, teachers use them in classrooms, humanitarian workers use them in context of refugee resettlement, and more.

Does this book work for illiterate adults?

Absolutely! That's why we create picture dictionaries.

We strongly believe in the power of cartoons in building vocabulary and promoting conversation, especially for users with limited literacy skills.

Can you do custom projects for organizations?

Yes, absolutely! We work as independent consultants for organizations to produce custom contextualized projects. See some of our previous work here.
